Great review… will there ever be 3g support for the N900?

  2. Uprock415 says:

There is… but on T-Mobile only… actually 3.5g on TMo. I switched to them from ATT. No regrets.

@ Absolone: Just curious, what firmware are you using? Did you update it at all? I’m debating whether or not to update to the newest version due to some of the bugs that it brings up, but the positives are awesome.

Thanks for the review! Thorough and very detailed. Love it.

I am using the latest firmware since I downloaded two updates not too long ago. There are some glitchy moments, but overall it is not bad.

Great! Maybe I will update to 1.1 The last update I did was the second to last one, but I heard of video playback issues.

Are you experiencing any video playback issues?

    Thanks for the reply!

I Wanna Get The N900 For At&t, Is There A App That Will Turn The Phone Into A Wifi Hotspot So Can Always Get A Wifi Connection Since I Won’t Get 3G ?

    Great video as always.

  11. absolon3 says:

Yes, I do have issues with video playback sometimes. Media player can suddenly decide that it is not playing a video file and will declare that it is incompatible with the N900. This is usually solved with power off/power on. Recording video shows skipping in the resulting footage as well. No work around for that at this time.

  12. absolon3 says:

Not sure, but you can always keep checking the Downloads section for Maemo5 on the Maemo*org site.

Good video as always. Is this your phone for personal use at the moment?

  14. absolon3 says:

Yes, it is my personal device and I am still liking it.

  15. Uprock415 says:

There is an app coming out soon for that.

I gotta admit the OS does seem to work more fluid than Symbian.

  17. pfhawk says:

well u can still try another player like mplayer for videos. i think u can also play videos in canola or mediabox. but overall mplayer (or kmplayer) is the best (u can also add subtitle support)
