Sirius Satellite Radio is a technical marvel; using a series of three satellites that use a highly inclined elliptical orbit, Sirius Satellite Radio broadcasts from the satellite directly to the receiver on the ground. The signals are completely digital, giving CD audio (or often times better) grade sound quality.

To get Sirius Satellite Radio, you need to have a compatible receiver, and an antenna pointed straight up at the sky; the three satellite constellation means you don’t need to have the antenna pointed straight to the southern horizon (though it does mean that, as the satellites shift position during the day, people who use a fixed installation may need to nudge the antenna direction a bit; some rigs have automatic antenna rotators to track the satellites even.) You also need to pay a subscription fee – though a $500 fee will give you lifetime access. You also need to pay a small fee to activate the radio.

In addition to audiophile grade sound, Sirius Satellite Radio offers exclusive content offered nowhere else. It is the only satellite radio network that offers every NFL game, for example, or Yankees Entertainment System. All Sirius Satellite Radio broadcasts have content encoding broadcast with it; this means you can look at the digital display on your radio and see the name of the song being broadcast, which makes it easier to look it up to buy a copy of it later.

Sirius Satellite Radio divides its content into subchannels called streams – there are currently over 160 of them, and more on the way; this makes it possible to find exactly what you’re looking for – be it Martha Stewart or Howard Stern, or as previously mentioned, the best sports radio on radio.

One of Sirius Satellite Radio’s innovations in providing broadcasting excellence is its hiring of people (like Steve Van Zandt) to executive produce audio shows; these can range from streams that offer only a single artist’s catalog (through albums, interviews, recorded concert footage) to interesting vertical slices of the broadcast music field, like twenty different stations providing different mixes of CD audio-grade rock and roll.

Sirius Satellite Radio also has co-op deals to broadcast talk radio simultaneously nation wide, and to bring some regional radio stations to a nationwide audience, and the packages keep growing, while the subscription fee remains the same. If you want to hear the best radio on radio, Sirius Satellite Radio is the best way to go.

Most new cars sold today have as standard equipment or as a minor cost upgrade the ability to have Sirius satellite radio. A car is a great place for this especially if you are driving across town or even across the country. You can tune in to your favorite Sirius radio station and listen to it throughout your journey, instead of trying to re-adjust your radio to pick up a new station as you start to leave the broadcast area of your traditional radio stations.

If you have not experienced Sirius satellite radio yet, you are missing out on something great, especially if you spend significant amount of time in your car. You deserve the opportunity to give this a try today and make your driving more enjoyable, and then when you get home, you can continue listening to your favorite Sirius radio station at home too from your home unit.

Digital audio receivers are a fabulous piece of equipments for any audio enthusiast, fan of music or gadget fanatic. Move that music sitting on your computer into the rest of your home.

You don’t want to be tied down to your pc just so you can listen to your favourite music. Also, those PC speakers don’t really do it justice if you have a hi-fi setup in your home. A digital audio receiver is an ideal solution for getting that music collection off your PC into the household via a quality piece of audio equipment.

Whether the music is downloaded, ripped from CDs or even created by you, if you’re one of the growing number of bedroom musicians that have sprung up since PCs became powerful enough and cheap enough for us all to make music with them, a digital audio receiver brings it to the living room. Now there really is no need for that CD collection that sits gathering dust in the age of music over the Internet.

The digital audio receiver does its magic by being connected to your home network. Different models offer different methods of connection, but they’re all essentially the same. Some connect to your wi-fi hub, others are physically connected with network cable, some are even connected to the phone socket, for those of you with a home PNA network (Home Phoneline Networking Alliance).

A numebr of digital audio receivers come packaged with software that you need to setup on your home computer. This software basically allows you to choose music from your collection as it knows where each file is located on your machine.

When a track is selected, the server software loads the audio and then “streams” it to the digital audio receiver. Streaming is just a technical term for passing the data to the digital audio receiver fast enough to allowing the digital audio receiver to begin playing instantly, without running out of music. This means that although the audio has to be moved across the network, it is surprisingly fast. No need to wait for the entire song to be downloaded before playing.

If you’ve ever got tired of constantly changing over CD’s on your normal audio setup, then this solution is perfect as everything is contained in one place. There are other benefits too, such as being able to see at a glance which music track is playing as well as who it is by.

A huge benefit of using a digital audio receiver is the ability to save your entire collection at any one time. You can literally get thousands of tracks onto a single DVD disc and a hard drive will allow you to store even more.

If you haven’t noticed yet, Sirius Satellite Radio added another channel to its programming. Sirius Sports Central is now on Channel 123 and it’s awesome. For all you fans of the Tony Bruno Show, he’s got his own show now on Sirius. This channel was created for those of us who enjoy all types of sports, not just football.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy football season as much as the next guy. Sports Central definitely has its fair share of football news, but occasionally I enjoy switching gears and talking about a different sport, like what’s going on in boxing, what to expect from LeBron James this year, or how many PGA tour victories Tiger now has under his belt. Sirius Radio says this channel will cover “a variety of professional and college sports” and I think that description is right on target.

So back to the Tony Bruno Show – if you are not already familiar with the award-winning Bruno, you should be. His show airs weekdays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm ET. Bruno is one of the best sports talk show hosts alive and has the experience and recognition to back it up. He’s been in the biz for 35+ years and has covered everything from the Super Bowl to the Olympics to the Kentucky Derby. You name it, he’s been there. In addition to Bruno, Sirius Sports Central will broadcast The Arnie Spanier Show, Todd Wright Tonight, and the David Stein Show.

My favorite part about the new Sports channel are the new programs Sirius created in addition to the exclusive programming that already exists. So if you like listening to the college sports show, “Rivals Radio,” then you’ll enjoy “The Sirius College Football Coaches Show.” And if you like the sports business talk show with marketing and collectibles experts Brandon Steiner and Andrew Bogusch then you might also enjoy the “ABC’s of Sports,” a caller oriented show about making sports more enjoyable for competitors and spectators.

One of the coolest programs is Sirius Fight Club hosted by Randy Gordon. Gordon is the former Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission and former Editor-in-Chief of The Ring magazine. So all you fight fans will be happy to know that Gordon is covering everything that is going on in boxing and mixed martial arts. Sirius Fight Club isn’t a secret though, so tell all your buddies it’s okay to talk about it.

SiriusSatellite Radio offers a ton of sports programming including NFL Radio on channel 124, NASCAR Radio on channel 128, and NBA Radio on channel 127 in addition to this new channel. If you’re any kind of sports fan then you’re going to really enjoy Sirius Sports Central Station on Channel 123.

The latest technological advancement to come to radio programming is satellite radio programming from Sirius. Its a whole new way to broadcast and listen to radio and it changes so many things that we have grown accustomed to having with radio programming. The first thing that radio listeners of the past have to go with out with Sirius satellite radio is commercial advertisements, that now come in rapid fire succession on standard radio programming.

This is because Sirius satellite radio is a paid for, subscription radio service, so they dont use radio commercials to generate revenue. You dont have to wonder what it costs to subscribe to Sirius satellite radio, because you get it for free now with your DirecTV or Dish Network TV programming package.

Another great thing about Sirius satellite radio is that it has a separate channel for just about any genre of music you can think of and that includes anything from old gospel to blue grass to heavy metal to old classic country swing and everything in between. Its broadcast from a satellite, so it is out of the jurisdiction of FCC sensors, so there is some very provocative talk programming to be heard on Sirius satellite radio.

The Howard Stern Show can now only be heard on Sirius satellite radio and he is reported to be just as funny and provocative as he has always been. Getting your radio programming from DirecTV or Dish Network is a great way to go, because you only have one service to subscribe to this way and also Dish Network gives you free Sirius satellite radio for your car, truck or RV.

If you are interested in getting it for your RV, then you might be surprised to learn that Dish Network now has a new satellite TV system that is just for RVs and it is called Mobile Dish. Mobile Dish is able to do what no other satellite TV service has been able to do before and that is to deliver satellite TV programming to an RV while it is traveling down the open highway.

It currently has one-hundred channels and Dish Network has plans to add even more channels in the near future. With Sirius satellite radio and Mobile Dish in your RV you are no loner in an entertainment deficit while you are on the road. This also give you access to the weather and news programming on Sirius satellite radio as well as the weather and news programming on Mobile Dish at all times while you are on the road.

Mobile Dish also does away with the cumbersome satellite dish that had to mounted on the roof of an RV and replaces it with a permanently mounted, low profile, state of the art high tech antennae. This new antennae never has to be touched again after it has been installed and it also does way with the constant risk of snags from tree branches. To find out more about Dish Network and the services that they have to offer you can contact them online.

Gone are the days when using two way radios were meant exclusively for the police and military personnel. Breaking the shackle from being the special privilege of the police and the defence forces, they are now within the reach of common man. Be it a family shopping in a mall together or two friends enjoying exciting a road trip separately, these radios provide them with wireless connectivity and help them trace out each other.

Two way radios are simple ways of staying connected wirelessly. Though they cover only a limited area, the cost-effective quality of the radios keeps them far above the other means of communication. The best thing about the radios is that there is no per minute call charge. This means that you will not need to pay any network provider for the time you talk on the radio. Once you a buy a set, it will keep on giving you service.

Another benefit of two way radios is that they are very easy to use. Generally, they come with a ‘push to talk button’. In order to initiate a talk, you can simply press on that button and you will be through the line. Because of this user-friendly nature, the radios are particularly popular among kids. Those parents who cannot offer costly mobile phones to their children can give them the radios for staying connected.

Coverage area of two way radios depends upon the set itself. If you want higher coverage, you have to go for high power radios. This type of radios may be a little expensive. An average radio generally covers something between three to five miles. With plenty of online shops selling two way radios over the Internet, you do not need to go out of your home to buy a radio. You can do it from anywhere, only if you have access to the Internet.

Radio Telegraph Transmitter is essentially similar to radio telephone transmitter except for the following differences firstly in the place of a conventionally telephone modulator, a telegraph modulator is used, secondly modulation is done at a lower carrier power level and thirdly class c amplifiers are used throughout, even after modulation since bandwidth involved is small. Further for radio telegraphy work, it is not essential to have the transmitter highly free from noise and hum modulation. In practice even self rectifying circuits with large hum are often used. There are two basic methods of telegraph modulation. Accordingly radio telegraph transmitters may be classified into two categories firstly those using amplitude modulation of the carrier and secondly those using frequency modulation of the carrier. Amplitude modulation radio telegraph radio telegraph transmitters are of two types. The first type is those using amplitude modulation of the carrier. The second type is those using frequency modulation of the carrier.

Amplitude modulation radio telegraph may be of two types firstly interrupted continuous wave type and secondly modulated continuous wave type. In interrupted continuous wave type of modulation, the carrier voltage is interrupted or keyed in accordance with some standard telegraph code say the Morse code. Thus during the mark interval, the carrier is allowed to reach the transmitter output while during the space interval, the carrier is disallowed or interrupted. This is the conventional type of telegraph modulation. In the modulated continuous wave type of modulation any audio tone interrupted according to the telegraph signal, amplitude modulates the carrier. Carrier voltage is produced in crystal controlled master oscillator. A buffer amplifier isolates the master oscillator form the load. Harmonic generators following the buffer amplifier raise the carrier frequency to the desired value and also raise the carrier power some what. In the modulator, a carrier at a low power is keyed in accordance with the modulating DC telegraph signal. The modulated carrier is raised in power in a chain of tuned class C amplifiers. The output is then fed to the transmitting antenna.

The frequency modulation radio telegraph transmitters may be of two types firstly Frequency Shift Keying Transmitter. In a Frequency Shift Keying Transmitter, the carrier frequency gets shifted to a slightly different value during making interval. Thus the carrier voltage is continuous but has different frequencies during marking and spacing intervals. Second is frequency modulated continuous wave type, in this type an audio tone interrupted according to the telegraph signal frequency modulates the carrier. Out of these various methods, the on-off keying and frequency shift keying are most commonly used. Direct keying in the oscillator is rarely done since this introduces incidental phase and frequency modulations. Keying is usually done is one the subsequent amplifiers at a low carrier power level.

A BMW is the commuter car of choice for many discerning drivers. Whether you drive into the city from the suburbs for your day on the job, or you travel across the country in your car, a BMW makes the trip much more pleasurable. Its smooth ride and sleek good looks are why drivers keep coming back to this popular automotive company. If you are someone who uses his or her BMW for long auto journeys, you might want to consider investing in satellite radio. BMW car owners choose this popular option in order to enjoy the shows they most like to hear on the radio. Satellite radio, featuring Sirius BMW radio, is an interesting new technology that has revolutionized radio reception.

Anyone who has done long distance travel in their cars knows what a drag it is to just be enjoying some music or talk on the radio, only to find yourself driving out of the station’s range and losing the signal entirely. Satellite radio changes all that. The radio signal, instead of being sent from a nearby translator, travels to a satellite in outer space, and returns to earth. You might think that the sound quality would be horrible because of the distance being covered, but the opposite is true: digital quality music comes pouring out of your car’s radio.

One of the satellite broadcasters is Sirius satellite radio. BMW Sirius makes any road trip more fun. Instead of just a handful of stations that your radio’s receiver can pick up as your traverse the country, you will have access to hundreds of stations by using satellite radio.

Sirius offers great reception because it has three satellites in place. Allowing for the rotation of the planet Earth, the particular placement of the satellites are such in order to provide continual coverage for its users in the United States. Signals are sent to the satellite, which then sends it back to Earth and your waiting radio receiver.

The antenna that is used to pick up Sirius satellite radio consists of an antenna and a receiver. The antenna picks up the signals from the satellite, cleans up the signals and then sends them on to the receiver. The receiver then converts the signals into a radio frequency that you can hear.

Subscribers to Sirius satellite radio can enjoy all of the music programming that they enjoy, along with all of their favorite talk radio shows that make the time fly by on a long cross-country trip. No matter where you are in the United States, you will never be out of touch with your best-loved audio entertainment. The quality of the sound is what keeps happy BMW drivers coming back to satellite radio.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio launched a new music channel last week dedicated exclusively the Grateful Dead on channel 32. To kick off the new channel SIRIUS aired a rarely heard recording of a 1974 concert from the Hollywood Bowl as well as a talk session with Bob Weir.

In listening to the newly added channel over the weekend I was able to tune into archived as well as recent interviews with some of the band members, jam out to some sweet music that I haven’t listened to in a long time, and reminisce with some fans about their incredible experiences with the Dead. If you often refer to yourself as a bona fide Deadhead then I think its time you looked into getting SIRIUS Satellite radio for your road trips.

The coolest part about this new channel is that it will really start to take shape as more subscribers volunteer their input on what they what to hear and talk about. Bob Weir even has his own show called “Bob Weir Behind the Mic” where he hosts an hour-long show to play and discuss the country-influenced music from the Dead. Weir won’t be the only Grateful Dead band member involved in this channel, it looks like Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, fan and member Bruce Hornsby, and lyricist John Perry Barlow will be joining in the fun as well. You can also look forward to hearing unreleased concert recordings, live performances, archived interviews with Jerry Garcia, and more.

Personally, my favorite part about the new channel besides 24/7 access to my favorite rock band of all times is the “Today in Grateful Dead History” segment. This segment will help you think back to your favorite memories of the Dead as David Lemieux, a Grateful Dead archivist, takes you back one day at a time to the events and the music that shaped the music world as we know it today. All in all it looks like the new Grateful Dead channel will be programmed as one of my favorites on my SIRIUS radio. You can find the Grateful Dead station 24/7 commercial-free on channel number 32.

If you find that you can actually tear yourself away from the new Grateful Dead channel I also suggest checking out Jam_On on channel 17, Jimmy Buffett’s Radio Margaritaville on Channel 31 and SIRIUS Blues on channel 74. These are just a handful of my favorite channels on SIRIUS Satellite Radio that are kind of similar to this new channel.

Perhaps you are thinking of taking a trip but you just are not good at following the maps very well because you always end up saying, “This looks like a short cut.” Then it turns out that it really isn’t a short cut so there you are, sitting there in the middle of the road arguing with the passenger in your car on which way you should have gone.

Don’t let this happen again, all you have to do is get a sat nav system. Satellite Navigation systems can come in many different varieties. When you are looking in the stores or online at the sat nav systems you want to be sure to not only look at the price, but the quality of the sat nav system as well. You need to do a few studies and read all about sat nav system. You should know that just because it is cheap does not mean that you should go ahead and buy it, because it may be cheap because of the quality. You don’t want a sat nave system that ends up telling you the wrong direction, then both you and your passenger will end up staring at it asking why!

Sat nav systems are systems that tell you where to go by telling you what streets to turn on and so on. Some even guide you step by step by saying, “Turn left here, turn right here, so on and so forth.” This could be good for those of you who get lost or keep going and circles and don’t even know it. You won’t be saying, “Gee, I thought I saw that scenery just two minutes ago.” Anymore.

Sat Nav Systems will save you not only time, but they will save you money as well. So when you have somewhere to go and want to make it there on time you can count on your sat nav system.

satellite radio for bmw, bmw xm, bmw x3 satellite radio

If you are looking for a compact SUV that is a luxury vehicle, you likely discovered the BMW X3. BMW actually doesn’t refer to them as an SUV, but rather as SAV, or sport activity vehicle. The latest versions of the X3 come equipped with heated seats, adaptive headlamps, panoramic sunroof, and an 3.0si engine with 260 horsepower. For improved safety, the BMW X3 also comes equipped with xDrive, which allows the vehicle to compensate before the driver might be aware of an unstable situation, thus improving your safety in potentially dangerous driving conditions. When you are looking at your options for satellite radio for BMW X3, BMW XM is a great choice. BMW X3 satellite radio offers you all of your favorite radio stations with perfect reception no matter where you might be traveling in your BMW.

If you enjoy rock, then you will like the fact that XM’s two powerful satellites are nicknamed “Rock” and “Roll.” They are orbiting Earth in a similar manner as other communications satellites.

XM Satellite Radio gives you so many options. With 100 channels of music, talk radio, news and entertainment, you are sure to find something great to listen to while in your BMW X3, even if you are no where close to a radio station transmitter. Your locale, no matter where that might be, is no obstacle to XM’s two Hughes HS 702 satellites. Those two powerhouses send any XM channel you wish right to your car’s radio. The XM lineup of outstanding radio begins at a ground station located near Washington, D.C., which sends their signal to the satellites, which then beam the signals down to Earth, and those signals are picked up by radio receivers designed to play the digital data they receive from the satellites.

If you are traveling in an urban area where there are a lot of tall buildings, you might have experienced intermittent gaps in your traditional radio reception. All of that is a thing of the past with XM Satellite Radio, because there are also transmitters placed strategically on the ground so you will always have great reception in your BMW X3 SAV.

XM Satellite Radio is a subscription service. For a small monthly fee you receive 100 channels of all your favorite programming that plays crystal clear no matter where you might be driving in your BMW X3. No traditional terrestrial radio can offer you the same listening excellence as can satellite radio.

Another aspect that many drivers favor when it comes to listening to satellite radio is the lack of commercials that play on the channels. On terrestrial radio, commercials can really break up the flow of the music or other programming. That annoyance is taken away with XM, when you can choose your favorite channels that feature your favorite artists or speakers.
